2012 Project 365 Day 299 Homeschool Day at Kenmore

Day 299 Today we attended "homeschool day" at Kenmore Plantation in Fredericksburg, where George Washington's sister lived after she was married. The event was very well organized, with five stations, each with its own tour guide, and we rotated through them. We took a nature walk scavenger hunt, viewed the inside of the house and colonial clothing, and practiced being soldiers and writing with a quill. Station #2 was the kitchen, which is a separate building from the house, for fire safety reasons. We were shown kitchen utensils and equipment and discussed how they compare to the items we use today. Manual 50mm 1/200sec f/2.8 ISO3200
